For the first time, Burberry invited UK university students to join its annual B Innovative showcase in London where we bring together suppliers and innovators working to find solutions to make the fashion industry more sustainable.
As part of a special Hackathon, 35 university students across the UK were invited to come into Burberry’s HQ in London, meet our R&D and design teams, and devise the Trench Coat of the Future. The students were able to bring their ideas to life with help from our 3D and data teams.
At the end of the day, the groups pitched their ideas to a judging panel of Burberry Leaders, with ideas ranging from apps and technology that can be incorporated into garments, to a Trench that could be adapted and customised for different stages of a customer’s life (in terms of sizing, fit and changing trends) to keep it in use for longer.
